American Friends of Coubertin
American Friends of Coubertin
(AFC) is an Illinois not-for profit corporation, recognized as a
Section 501(c)(3) exempt organization by the IRS. It was created in
2008 with the purpose of promoting the aims of the French Fondation de Coubertin.
The
Fondation is dedicated to supporting high-quality craftsmanship in
activities such as metalwork, woodwork, stone-masonry and art foundry.
Training and experience for selected craftsmen is provided through the
activities of an entity called Ateliers Saint-Jacques, which competes
in the marketplace for historical restoration projects as well as new
commissions from individuals and corporations, and thus provides
trainees with a real working environment.
